THE DACHSHUND RESCUE.(U.K.)

This is an organisation initiated by the Dachshund Club and the Longhaired Dachshund Club and is run by Dachshund enthusiasts who are committed to homing any Dachshund in need. The reasons some of these dogs are available for rehoming are many. Some may be a "victim" of a divorce, others could have survived their owners, and some may have been in unsuitable homes.

The Dachshund Rescue tries to find the right home for the right dog in the U.K.

Hello there, welcome to the Dachshund Rescue webpage. Whilst we are always pleased to hear from people willing to give a rescue dachshund a home, we would point out that the current waiting time is approximately 6 to 12 months. We are very fortunate to be in this position. Dachshunds are not a breed which is just ‘turned out’, we hardly ever get puppies or very young dogs, they come to us usually from 4 years upwards, due usually to domestic crisis i.e. death, divorce or older people becoming ill and/or taken into care.

Any dog coming in rescue in need of veterinary attention receives this before re-homing. However we are always pleased to talk to prospective owners and add you to our waiting list if you wish.

Thank you for your interest in our lovely breed, the ever-popular Dachshund
